The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI)
The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) is the leading organisation working on behalf of the UK's paper industries.
It was launched in January 2000 and brought together four long-established industry trade associations:
Association of Manufacturers of Soft Tissue Papers (AMSTP);
British Recovered Paper Association (BRPA);
Corrugated Packaging Association (CPA);
The Paper Federation of Great Britain;
CPI represents the paper chain from the recovery of used paper through papermaking and conversion to distribution.
CPI Mission
To be recognised by UK Government, and the community at large, as the authoritative and effective voice of the UKÇƒÙs paper-related industries, defending their interests and promoting their achievements and potential.
CPI Objectives
To focus on services that can be provided more effectively on a collective basis;
To provide services that Çƒ?add valueÇƒ? and provide tangible benefits to Members;
To maintain its position as the authoritative source of knowledge on the paper industry.
Governance
CPIÇƒÙs policies are determined by its Council. This comprises of two representatives from each Sector Body, with normally no more than one from any Member company or corporate entity. Each Sector Body holds the Presidency for a two year period. The Council elects an Honorary Treasurer and any other relevant officers.
A Finance & Management Committee (FMC), with representation from each Sector Body, advises and makes recommendations to the Council on budgetary and other related management issues.
