Corporaci??n Chilena de la Madera, CORMA, is an association with its headquarters in Santiago, Chile and four regional offices.
Throughout its 50 years CORMA has gathered more than 200 companies, executives, professionals and entrepreneurs linked to the Chilean forestry. Among its members it is possible to find the leading pulp and paper, wood based panels, saw milling, remanufacturing and forestry companies, accounting around ninety percent of the country's forestry exports.
Its aim is to provide a meeting point for the private sector, coordinating common actions with the purpose of expanding the potentialities of the country's forest resources and achieve a harmonic and sustained development of its industry. It also represents the interests of the private forest sector and those of the national wood based industry to the authorities and to the various international private organizations.
There are many success stories achieved by CORMA along its half a century. In this period it has turned a main actor in the development and consolidation of the Chilean forestry sector. Among them, its definitive contribution to the formulation of laws regarding the forestry sector, aiming at its industrial development. It had a key participation in the inception and the final passing of the Decree Law 701; a benchmark in the history of the Chilean forestry sector development, which currently regulates the sector's activity
