In November 2002, Rapid Refill Ink was born in a 950 square foot retail location under the management of current President, Dan White. He had the vision of being able to remanufacture or refill virtually all brands of inkjet and laser toner cartridges. He knew this was good for the environment and felt certain that customers would find the business valuable with both savings and recycling involved. He was determined to make his vision a reality and to become a leader of this cause in his local community in Eugene, Oregon. He had no idea how far reaching his dream would extend.
He rented a small space in the downtown area, hired friends and family to help out and set-up shop. Soon enough, Dan confirmed that the consumer demand was high and the local market was untapped. Growth quickly followed. With this growth, it became apparent that the old ǃ?drill and fillǃ? technique of refilling ink and toner cartridges was badly out-dated. New processes and procedures had to be developed. Over time, a simple automated system was developed to efficiently deliver high quality cartridges to the marketplace.
These new systems, along with trained staff, ultimately allowed his company to produce 500 inkjet cartridges and daily and 10,000 monthly per facility. Additionally, the same facility can remanufacture 2,000 laser toner cartridges monthly. Along with Rapid Refill Ink remanufactured product, they also sell compatible and OEM products, giving the customer a choice.
Rapid Refill Ink was founded on the belief that remanufacturing is good for the environment and good for consumers too. It is the ultimate form of recycling and literally turns consumers ǃ?trash into cash.ǃ? Rapid Refill Ink now has over 40 stores in 12 states that are helping to make the earth a little greenerǃ?one cartridge at a time.
